Glenfrom Primary School 'Stay and Play' Project

We have been commissioned by Bristol City Council to run a 4 month pilot project at Glenfrome Primary School encouraging parents to stay after school and play with their kids.  The project has been a roaring success with up to 60 attendees engaging in a wide range of play activities.  In addition, we have been asked to be 'guests of honour' and ribbon cutters at the launch of Glenfrome's new Playpod.......now then, where are the oversized scissors?

A.P.E Project delivering free training in March in partnership with PEYTU and CSV

  • Spin Painting - Inspired by the success of the A.P.E. Project Peddle Powered Spin Painting Tricycle, this workshop will go through the process of making a large spin painting machine for your play setting step by step.  Be prepared to handle some basic tools and get a bit messy as you test your prototype and, by the end of the workshop, you will have a working spin painting machine to take away with you.  You will also be shown how to make spin paintings into funky Chinese hats....ideal for hot summer playschemes. Tuesday 16 March - 10am to 1pm - CSV Environment, Bishopsworth – FREE (£10 deposit)

  • Cycle Safety and Decor - Simple yet creative ways to make children's bikes more fun and colourful.  This is a great activity for day long playschemes which both encourages children to cycle and is a great creative workshop.  In addition, some simple measures using flags, reflective surfaces and lights will help to make cycles more visible to motorists. Bring your own bike or a child's bike to work on if you wish. Monday 22 March - 10am to 1pm - CSV Environment, Bishopsworth – FREE (£10 deposit)

  • Basic Cycle Maintenance - A.P.E Project and one of its young volunteers will be running a hands on cycle maintenance workshop going through basic procedures such as repairing punctures, fixing a chain, changing and tuning brakes as well as answering any other questions you may have. This is a great way to help get broken children's bikes back out of the garage and get them riding again. Be prepared for dirty oily hands and clothes.  Bring your own bike or child's bike to work on if you wish. Tuesday 23 March – 10am to 1pm - CSV Environment, Bishopsworth – FREE (£10 deposit)
